About David Kmak, MD, FACOG
Dr. David Kmak is originally from Northwest Indiana. He completed his undergraduate college training at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He then graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1986. Dr. Kmak performed his resident training in OB/GYN at Hutzel Hospital/Detroit Medical Center. Following residency, he joined the faculty of Wayne State University Department of OB/GYN at Hutzel Hospital and the Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Kmak was part of the faculty for 17 years until he decided to go into private practice as a provider for Hutzel Women’s Health Specialists.
Dr. Kmak’s areas of specialty are minimally invasive and robotic surgeries. He is an accredited provider at the Center of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery based at Harper/Hutzel Hospital. A surgeon must have demonstrated their skills in surgery, as well as low complication rates to be credentialed for this designation through the AAGL (American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy).
